CR Surfacing Volunteers packed up their swags and tents to head to Bruthen last weekend in aid of rebuilding damaged properties after the devastating bushfires in Australia. With Blaze Aid’s coordination, CR Surfacing removed 3.3km of burnt barbed wire fencing and rebuilt 500m of new fencing in 2 days.
In spite of the shocking scenes of bushfire devastation, the team had a wonderful time and returned to Melbourne with surprisingly beautiful stories and new skills. The farmers were all wonderful people with an amazing attitude – not disheartened but looking at the ruins as an opportunity to now build something better and stronger.
